Description

So far, this map is the one I like the most, simply because I love Asia. ^^

After World War III, the Communist Party of China was ousted and Taiwan and China were reunited as the Republic of China. However, this would not last long. Eleven years later, the Global Insurrection began, and with the resurgence of nationalism across the world, myriads of separatist factions revolted and eventually seceded from the Republic, leaving China a mere shadow of its former glory.

Canton, Uighuristan, Macao, Manchuria, Taiwan, Gwangshi (Guangxi), Tibet and Sichuan... all these territories seceded, representing a nation distinct from the Han Chinese. Canton for the Cantonese, Gwangshi for the Zhuang, Uighuristan for the Uighurs, Tibet for the Tibetans, Macao for the Portuguese speaking community, Taiwan for the Aboriginals, Sichuan for the Communists and Manchuria for the Tungusian peoples. The Republic of China warred with each of these factions throughout the Insurrection and even after and was ultimately forced to surrender when Korea and Japan intervened on behalf of Canton, Manchuria and Taiwan.

India suffered a similar fate, succumbing to the nationalist surge. Great swathes of territories suddenly declared independence, with large portions of the former Indian armed forces joining the rebellion. Assam, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kashmir, Orissa and even the Andaman and Nicobar Islands all declared their independence and fought India into submission, with Bangladesh at their side, which had been enlarged when the separatists in West Bengal joined the republic. The Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka also finally succeeded in gaining their independence, taking half of Ceylon for themselves in establishing Tamil Eelam.

Indonesia and Pakistan were fully consumed by the chaotic events and ceased to exist all together. In Pakistans place rose Baluchistan, Sindhudesh, Khalistan, Waziristan and Kashmir, while in the Indonesian archipelago: Java, Aceh, Sulawesi and the Moluccas Islands replaced the old transinsular nation, with Brunei, Timor and Papua taking substantial portions of the country for themselves. Through clever manipulation and cunning strategy, tiny Brunei managed to secure the entirety of Borneo, eventually establishing itself as one of the economically most powerful nations of the Far East.

The Middle East also saw its fair share of conflict. A minor insurgency in old Saudi Arabia blew into a gigantic revolution that toppled the old monarchy and cast away the theocratic system of government, executing all of the Saudi and Wahabbi clans they could get their hands on. The new Republic of Arabia was declared and while not being a theocracy anymore was still firmly rooted in the Islamic moral code. It became the prime Arabian power in the world, surpassing even Egypt in strength, and has since then worked to establish a separate sphere of influence to combat that of Europe. The United Arab Emirate also had their own problems, cast into civil war in which Dubai emerged as the victor, finally laying claim to the whole country.

The old Iranian government was swiftly and brutally toppled folowing World War II and a secular republic erected in its place, later became the greatest ally of the European Federation: one of the world's two superpowers. Syria was made a puppet regime of the EF, while the cut out countries of Aramea and Assyria remained loyal to the EF for having granted their independence. In Gaza, the various Islamist factions allied and fought of both Israeli and Palestinian national forces, declaring the Islamic Republic of Palestine and independent entity from the Arab Republic of Palestine, which ruled the West Bank. Jordan also became a full democracy following the reforms of Abdullah II, operating under a constitutional monarchy.

I Northern Asia, Russia saw total collapse as it was torn apart by armed factions of all kinds. Siberia, Chukotka, Buryatia, Tuva, Khakassia, the Altay Republic, the Soviet Republic and many others declared independence one after another. In the end situation became to desperate for the Russian federal authorities to handle,, which is why they called on the European Federation to help them. Eventually, the Russia joined the European Federation to keep collapsing alltogether, and was followed by all the new countries that had seceded from the Bear. This caused the EF to be ridden with riots for the rest of its existence, the Russian resistance movement later coming to cooperate with its Spanish and Turkish counteparts.
