Yet another entry for the Alternate Asia Flag Map Project.
This is a simpler flag for the Republic of Republic of Kazakhstan, keeping the colours and their meanings of the original flag and applying them in different ways. The blue now more clearly represents the sky in contrast to the golden/yellow ground, which respresents the steppes, deserts and crop-fields of the country.
The white symbol in the middle is allegedly the symbol of the Kazakh Khanate and has here taken the place of the sun and eagle to represent the Kazakhs as a people.
The moon and crescent represents their connection to the other Turkic people, as well Islam, the majority religion.
